Food Security Council

Food Security Council:

A group of neighbors united to strengthen the food system by empowering communities of the food vulnerable, building relationships, and supporting innovation.

Our vision is to make Buffalo’s West Side a vibrant, safe, healthy and inclusive neighborhood. We envision a community where families and individuals are strong, children are healthy, and every youth succeeds in school and achieves lifelong success.

We know youth, families, and individuals must have their basic needs met so they can feel engaged in learning. During Covid-19 when our WSPN children and families needed extra help, we decided to hold a space for neighbors who wanted to talk about food. Our conversation and our work continues today.

The Food Security Council focuses on 14207, 14213, 14201, and 14222.

We meet on Mondays at 12 p.m. on Zoom.  Click on the Join Us tab and register to get the link.
